Species: Northern Parula (Setophaga americana)
Location: Estes Park, Larimer County, Colorado, United States
Age: immature/subadult     Plumage: basic/non-breeding     Activity: perching/standing
Sex: ---     Visibility: full body     Quantity: single
Photographer: David Seibel     Date: October 30, 2011
Equipment: Canon EOS-1D Mark IV and Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L     Megapixels: 9.0

Notes: This bird, likely a first-year male, was foraging among ground cover and in scrubby trees and shrubs beside a stream in downtown Estes Park. A Yellow-rumped (Audubon's) Warbler was nearby, but the two did not interact. It appeared healthy despite its atypical location (far west of its usual range) and the late season (the first snow had already fallen).
